What does “Made by vets for pets” actually mean?

Vets Choice insurance for pets was born out of Guild Insurance’s commitment to the veterinary profession. Our policies ensure pet owners have access to quality healthcare for their pets, without worrying about the potential financial burden. Developed with our valued partner of over 25 years, the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) and vets, our policies provide coverage for the accidents and illnesses that pets face. This partnership enables us to understand the real-life needs of vets, so we can provide the best support possible and continue to care for the community of vets who care for our pets.

One of Vets Choice partner practices is SAI Vet Hospital. The vets at the hospital see themselves as assisting their customers to firstly becoming aware of the benefits of pet insurance, and then to empower them to make their own informed decisions.

“We treat all animals, insured or not, but invariably have less difficult conversations with the owners of insured pets, explains Dr Amit Setia, Veterinary Director SAI Vet Hospital.

How Vets Choice insurance for pets helps both vets and pet owners

We don’t ask our partners to sell or recommend pet insurance, but we are here to support and add value. We assist vets with raising awareness of pet insurance and promoting the benefits to pet owners.

We offer pre-approval for scheduled procedures and treatments and there is little to no administration for practices if a pet owner raises a claim with our fast online claims process.

If pet owners have pet insurance, practices can provide the treatments needed without the difficult ‘cost versus treatment’ conversation.

We also have an open invitation for feedback from our partner vets to help us make sure our policies respond to the needs of both vets and pets.

Finally, every policy that’s sold contributes to a local animal shelter as well as the Vets Benevolent Fund, giving back to the profession and providing support for animals that are looking for a new best friend.
