The Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) recently undertook an extensive recruitment exercise and is pleased to announce our new CEO will commence in December 2018.

Mr Corey Snell brings a wealth of senior executive experience in the not for profit and public sectors primarily in health and aged care. Most recently, Corey was an award-winning Chief Information Officer for a national healthcare organisation and his experience in this area will be invaluable to the AVA as the digital transformation of the organisation enters its next exciting phase.

Snell said it was an honour to be given the opportunity to lead the AVA.

“I’m very excited to join the AVA. I feel it is a privilege to be serving this group of trusted professionals. I look forward to working with the Board in what is clearly a very exciting time for the AVA and the veterinary profession.” said Snell.

Dr Paula Parker, AVA President, said of the appointment: “On behalf of the AVA, I would like to welcome Corey to the organisation and congratulate him on his appointment. We look forward to working with him and invite all of our members and partners to welcome Corey as we continue to realise our vision as the animal health and welfare leader of Australia’s animal industries.”

“Corey’s passion, skills and experience coupled with his personable and engaging style will see him perform as an excellent advocate for members of the AVA and its staff. The AVA board is confident that Corey’s leadership will complement the AVAs existing strong team to deliver the strategic priorities for our profession.’
